The Division of Nephrology at the University of Toronto is one of the leading institutions for training nephrologists for both clinical practice and academic careers in North America. The division is an accomplished community of academic nephrologists, with members across leading hospitals including University Health Network (Princess Margaret Hospital, Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital), Unity Health Toronto (St. Michael’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre) and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and has one of the largest nephrology training programs in core nephrology with fellowships in glomerulonephritis, heritable kidney disease, home dialysis, palliative care, onconephrology and more.

The University of Toronto offers a Residency Training Program and Fellowship Program, with a network of academic and clinical nephrologists across various hospitals including the University Health Network (UHN).

PGY4-5 Program (Canadian Stream)
The Division of Nephrology at the University of Toronto is considered one of the leading institutions for training nephrologists for both academic careers and clinical practice in North America. A two-year residency in nephrology is available for physicians who have completed a residency in internal medicine.

Multi-Care Kidney Clinic
The Multi-Care Kidney Clinic at UHN provides multidisciplinary care for patients diagnosed with CKD Stage 4-5 (including failing kidney transplants and other transplant patients with CKD.)
Home Peritoneal Dialysis
The Home Peritoneal Dialysis Unit at UHN provides an excellent option for chronic dialysis, and all patients can be assessed for ability to carry out Peritoneal Dialysis.
The Home Hemodialysis Unit at UHN provides training in nocturnal dialysis for patients.
